Colonia Resort opened in 2016, featuring a 1500m² compound, located close to the Taba border in Eilat, which offers a complex of camping, diving, dining and events. The “Glamping Complex,” open seasonally from April until late October, provides 10 white cotton tents, each featuring a large bed, indoor seating area, windows, carpeting, mini bar, towels, robes and air conditioning. Shared shower and bathroom facilities are available in addition to on-site parking. “We have tents suitable for both couples and for families, which are divided into two separate spaces,” says Partner & Marketing Manager Hadar Auslander. “The tents are designed to enhance the camping experience with luxury comforts, in addition to other services, such as our range of spa treatments, offered on the complex.”
During the months of November to March, the Glamping Complex is replaced with a traditional camping site, geared towards larger groups. “We are dynamic and change our accommodation offering seasonally,” explains Auslander. “We still provide camping equipment during winter months, but it’s basic in comparison to our glamping tents.” The complex has an event space for private functions, including those of corporate nature, group gatherings and celebrations.
Dining & Amenities
Campania Restaurant (open daily) serves a Mediterranean style breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as an evening bar with a menu of cocktails. “We offer guests a discount for lunch and dinner, both of which are popular among our visitors who more often than not prefer to stay on the resort for the duration of their trip.” Special ongoing events are hosted at the complex, including guest chef takeovers at the restaurant, lectures, live music sessions and performances.
Guests are also eligible for a discount at the Clarity Diving Club, which provides various courses and other marine related activities, including guided snorkeling and diving experiences. In addition, visitors can benefit from a stretch of adjacent beach, yoga classes and partake in nearby leisure activities, including the Underwater Observatory Marine Park and Coral Beach Nature Reserve.
“Despite Eilat’s reputation as an Israeli vacation destination, we have a goal to increase our incoming market through more digital marketing and social media activity,” outlines Auslander. “Our goal is to market Colonia Resort as a top destination in Eilat for FITs, families and groups.”
