According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, 254,800 tourists entered Israel in August, reflecting around a 20 percent increase on the same month last year and a nine percent rise on August 2015. 231,800 people arrived by air (an increase of 19 percent on last year,) 21,900 tourists by land, and 21,200 entered as day visitors, a 125 percent increase on August last year.
Between January – August 2017, about 2.3 million tourists were recorded as entering the country, a 24 percent increase on this period last year and over 20 percent more than August 2015.
