Ariel Sharon Park is the largest metropolitan park in Israel, and it offers a variety of leisure and recreational activities for the whole family. The park has been established for the benefit of metropolitan residents and visitors from all over the country, and offers a wide range of activities most of them related to maintaining a green environment. The park includes natural areas, archeology, streams, unique observations, artificial lakes and even agricultural areas along with hiking, walking and cycling trails and a variety of areas to stay outdoors.
The park offers a variety of autumn tours for the whole family, on weekdays and weekends: (The tours are paid and pre-registered):
Following the birds – A tour for families in the mountain complex from the point of view of the birds in the park, while getting to know the story of the transformation that the mountain of waste went through from a sanitary hazard to a green park. Each child participating in the tour receives a folding binocular and sets birds for self-preparation.
Lantern tour – sunset tour of the mountain complex. A unique tour of the mountain complex that begins in daylight and ends in the dark, accompanied by lanterns. An opportunity to experience the changing nature in the evening, watch the spectacular sunset over the Gush Dan metropolis and get to know the unique story of the restoration of the waste mountain and its transformation into a green park. During the tour, emphasis is placed on the five senses that are sharpened in the dark. Listen to the sounds of the animals at night, smell and taste the herbs and perfumes that grow on the mountain and their unique uses for healing and adapt to sight in the dark accompanied by lanterns.
