An appreciation event for Israeli hoteliers was held this week at the initiative of the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, and in the capacity of the Minister of Tourism, Haim Katz.

In this framework, the President of the State of Israeli received a comprehensive overview from Minister Katz and the members of the hotel association on the procedure for establishing a “war room” shared with the Ministry of Tourism and Hoteliers, and on the system of placement of evacuees in hotels while providing an envelope for the various day-to-day needs.

President Isaac Herzog: “The hotels in Israel have mobilized for the most important task, to give the home country shelter under one roof in an emergency crisis. I congratulate the hotels, thank the hoteliers’ association and the Minister of Tourism Haim Katz for their great work and cooperation”.

Minister of Tourism – Haim Katz: “When I heard about the government’s decision regarding the evacuation, I decided to take the evacuation under my auspices. The hoteliers donated without any hesitation and for that I thank them very much, the hotels became communities with schools and employment for the children. I call on the hoteliers, make sure that people check out in order to receive the daily grant”.

The president of the hotel association: “If not for Tourism Minister, Haim Katz, there would have been a major and real humanitarian crisis in regards to the evacuation of residents. Israel’s hoteliers are proud to take part in a truly Zionist national effort. We do everything to make the evacuees feel at home and wish for the day when they can return to their homes and come back to us as guests”.
