The new plan, which is expected to cost approximately 2.5 billion USD, includes the purchase of 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, and aims to expand the airline’s fleet of narrow-body aircraft and gradually replace old Boeing 737 aircraft, which are operated by it.

Negotiations will likely last several weeks before an initial offer is signed and the planes are expected to be delivered over several years, starting in 2027.

As mentioned, El Al will purchase aircraft from the Boeing 737 MAX series – and according to reports – will focus on the three larger models of the series: 737MAX8 which combines a flight range of 6570 km, 162 to 178 seats and two passenger classes, 737MAX9 which combines a flight range of 6570 km, 178 to 193 seats and two passenger classes, and the 737MAX10 model that combines a flight range of 5740 km, 188 to 204 seats and two passenger classes.
