The Israel Ministry of Tourism has appointed Yael Golan interim tourism commissioner for North America. Golan will oversee all tourism marketing for the ministry’s five regional offices in the U.S. and Canada. Previously, Golan served as tourism consul of the Southern region for six years. Based in Atlanta, she promoted Israel travel to tour operators, host agencies, airlines, cruise lines, major Christian denominations and Jewish organizations.
In addition to her role as interim commissioner, Golan is also director of the international hosting program. Since the events of Oct. 7, she has been the point person for two northern Israel regional councils — Marom Galil and Metula — in charge of finding accommodations for displaced citizens.
The Israel Ministry of Tourism also named Richard Liverance the Western region marketing director and Lisa McManus business development manager for the Midwest region.
