Great news for travelers! Air India is set to resume its popular direct service between New Delhi (DEL) and Tel Aviv (TLV) starting January 1, 2026. This move marks a significant step in restoring international air connectivity following the operational halts experienced by many global carriers since late 2023.

The reinstated route promises convenience and efficiency for tourists and business travelers alike.

Air India will operate five weekly flights, running from Sunday to Thursday, utilizing the modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. A key benefit for passengers is the considerably reduced travel time. By utilizing a secure and shorter route over Saudi Arabia, the average flight duration will be approximately five and a half hours.

The flight schedule has been carefully designed to maximize convenience: TLV to DEL: Departs at 11:40 am and arrives at 8:50 pm; DEL to TLV: Departs at 7:00 am and arrives at 9:55 am.

The strengthening of air ties with India may not stop there. Arkia Airlines, an Israeli carrier, has also expressed strong interest in establishing its own direct services to major Indian destinations such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Goa. Arkia is currently evaluating the use of its long-range Airbus A321neo LR aircraft for these potential routes. Should this proceed, it would further enhance travel opportunities between the two nations.

While the regional air travel landscape has faced challenges—with some countries implementing restrictions (like Türkiye closing its airspace to Israeli aircraft) and isolated ground-staff boycotts at certain airports—Air India’s decision underscores a growing confidence in resuming regular, scheduled services to Tel Aviv.
