El Al flight LY21 took off this week at 01:33 at night and landed in Fort Lauderdale at 07:30 in the morning (local time) after 12:58 flight hours. As a reminder, El Al announced that it will operate seasonal flights to Fort Lauderdale in the months of September-October 2023, as a seasonal response to the high demand for flights during the holiday season in Israel, with the inaugural flight scheduled for September 13, 2023. The inaugural flight was operated on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
A month ago, El Al announced that the route would become permanent and would be the company’s sixth scheduled flight destination to the USA, when starting on April 15, 2024, the company would operate two regular weekly flights from Tel Aviv to Fort Lauderdale.
The flights left on Monday and Friday, while the return flights from Fort Lauderdale to Tel Aviv left on Monday and last night. According to the reservation system, the flight time is currently 13:15 hours on the outbound flight and 12:00 hours on the return flight. The flights will operate simultaneously with 6 weekly flights operated by the company to nearby Miami.
