Sun d’Or airlines, a subsidiary of Israeli airline El Al, will launch direct flights from Tokyo, Japan to Tel Aviv, Israel starting September 2019, according to TouristIsrael.com. The new flight route will fly direct between Narita Airport, Tokyo in Japan to Ben Gurion Airport, in Tel Aviv, Israel. The first flight will depart from Tel Aviv and is scheduled for September 13, 2019. On September 14, 2019, the first flight is scheduled to depart from Tokyo back to Tel Aviv. The new route should take approximately 11.5 hours to fly between Israel and Japan. Israeli tourism to Japan and vice versa has seen a recent increase. In 2018, some 35,000 travelers flew between Israel and Japan compared to only 15,000 five years earlier, according to the Foreign Ministry.
