Wizz Air, the largest low cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, continues its expansion in Eilat and announced the launch of its new winter line from Vilnius to Eilat.

The new line will begin operating from October 2019 with two weekly flights – Tuesdays and Saturdays at a cost of NIS 39. Tickets are available through the company’s website or through the app.

As a pioneer of the new travel era in Israel, the company offers discounted rates to a large number of destinations through an online and friendly reservation system. In 2018, more than 1.2 million passengers enjoyed Wizz Air flights to and from Israel.

Amir Halevy, director general of Israel’s Ministry of Tourism, said, “The expansion of Wizz Air activity in Israel and the opening of a new line from Vilna to Eilat are expressions of confidence in the tourism to Israel and the marketing effectiveness we are leading in Europe, which led to an all-time peak in tourist entries to Israel. In recent years, airlines and tourists have discovered the quality tourist product offered by Israel and of course the value of the desert product. I am confident that our close ties with Wizz Air will help us break even more records.”

Tamara Vallois, head of Marketing and Communications at Wizz Air, said: “We are pleased to announce that the company will launch a new line between Vilna and Eilat for the winter of 2019-2020. We are talking about strengthening the presence and connection of the company to Israel, which brings an important contribution to incoming and outgoing tourism and to business relations between the two countries.”
