Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov met with the chairman of the Chinese Fuson company – one of the controlling owners of the famous Club Med hotel chain. At the meeting, the two discussed ways to restore the chain to operations in Israel as soon as possible.

During the meeting, Minister Yoel Razvozov pointed out to the chairman of the Chinese company Guangchang Guo the advantages that exist in the various regions throughout Israel and expressed his commitment to help with the issue.

As a reminder, Club Med chain stopped its activity in Israel in 2011, when at the peak of its activity in Israel it operated three tourist villages – in Eilat, Akziv, and Ashkelon.

Fusun, the largest shareholder in the chain, is valued at approximately 150 billion dollars, and has diversified holdings in the fields of health, cosmetics, tourism and insurance.

Tourism Minister Yoel Razvozov (Yesh Atid): Increasing the hotel supply is critical to our fight to lower vacation prices in Israel and bring more tourists to the country. Therefore, the return of a large international chain like Club Med to Israel, will increase the vacation options here in Israel for the citizens of the country, will attract many tourists to us and will strengthen the prestige of the “Israel” brand in the world of tourism and in general. This way we will take another step towards meeting the goal we set: 10 million tourists in Israel per year by 2030”.
