The “Travel Hotels” chain and Kibbutz Tel Katzir will jointly establish a 120-room traveler village about a kilometer above the Sea of Galilee. The village will be called “Agama” and its construction is part of the new expansion strategy of a “Travel” chain that builds content-based hotels for the traveling public. The strategy, established just before the COVID-19 crisis, determined that the chain would expand from the north to the south and serve the traveling public throughout the country. The village houses in Tel Katzir will be designed to suit young families, groups of travelers as well as digital nomads. The village will have a swimming pool overlooking the Sea of Galilee and a large training center for travelers.
Agama is an equal partnership between the chain and the kibbutz. The reason for the decision to establish an Agama next to the Sea of Galilee came in light of the massive construction of luxury hotels around the Sea of Galilee. There was a need for a hotel that on the one hand would be modern and based on advanced technologies and on the other hand would be at more affordable prices suitable for the pocket of the traveling family. This is an investment of about 65 million ILS.
The village itself is built on 22 dunams, 120 2-room buildings will be built in it (parents’ room and a living room where the children will be entertained). The hotel is designed by the architect Guy Arbel, Oren Architects and supervised by the Kidan company.
“The Sea of Galilee is the largest and most significant lake in Israel and around it there are exceptional hiking areas, hot springs and views of the southern Golan Heights. In recent years, the trend of construction around the lake is for luxury hotels and with it the prices of accommodation are also rising”, says Bat Chen Yeshua, CEO and founder of the “Travel Hotel” chain. “The Agama Travel Village is expected to be a significant change in this reality, on the one hand and a high-quality, beautiful hotel, and on the other hand”.
