For the first time ever, tourism officials from around the globe are gathering in Jerusalem’s Inbal hotel to discuss the issue of security specifically tied to tourism amid the various security crises the tourism industry faces. Numerous countries have been faced with security dilemmas and the tourism industry suffers as a result as tourists are hesitant to travel to what are otherwise popular destinations. Israel has become a leader in demonstrating how resolve, persistence and strong security measures can help countries rebound from dips in tourism due to security concerns and terror-related incidents. The conference is being held under the auspices of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism, the Jerusalem Development Authority and the Israel Incoming Tour Operators Association.
