Israeli Chef Uri Jeremias has launched private guided culinary tours in Acre’s Old City, paired alongside chef-led dining experiences at his restaurant, Uri Buri. The tour commences in Efendi Hotel’s Byzantine-era wine cellar, with a session on how to select, maintain and cook fish. Visitors are then taken on a two-hour guided walking tour of the market, with the opportunity to meet and speak to local shopkeepers and experience how Uri Jeremias chooses the fish and seafood served at his restaurants. The tour concludes at Uri Buri where visitors will be served lunch with the chef.
The culinary market tour follows the launch of Crusader Academic Seminars at the Efendi Hotel, in conjunction with Professor Efraim Lev from the Department of Land of Israel Studies at Technion University. The four-day customizable seminars offer participants full board with three meals a day, lectures by academics and professionals and field trips to Crusader, archaeological and historical sites. Lectures include topics on the history of archaeology in Acre, Maritime Acre and the Bah’áí religion and Acre.
