The Municipality of Beit Shemesh has announced the final plans for construction of Yarmuth Park, to commence within the year. Stage one, costing a reported ILS 30 million (approximately $8.4 million), will span almost 50 acres of land to build an ecological lake, playground facilities for different age groups, walking paths, biking trails, lawns with picnic and barbeque areas and parking lots. The park will also preserve and showcase archaeological remains from the area.
