The King David, the Dan’s flagship hotel, is due to re-open its doors on July 2nd, 2020 under the new incoming General Manager, Tamir Kobrin. Tamir is replacing the previous GM, Haim Shkedi who held the position for 25 years, and has over 20 years of experience in luxury hotels around the world, previously managing the Anantra Hotel in Portugal, Leila Palace in Udaipur, and Leila Palace in New Delhi. In the past Kobrin worked as Reception Manager at the King David, so this appointment provides the closing of a professional circle for him.

Known throughout the world for welcoming, world leaders, presidents, heads of state and many famous people, this magnificent property is regularly selected by Travel & Leisure magazine as one of the world’s best hotels. It has also been included in the magazine’s top ten hotels in Africa and the Middle East for 15 consecutive years. The King David is a member of the prestigious organization, The Leading Hotels of the World, who named the hotel as one of the ten best properties in the Middle East and Africa.

The Dan Hotels chain has worked tirelessly to make all the necessary accommodations according to the Ministry of Health’s guidelines so that guests can safely enjoy all areas of the hotel, the excellent cuisine, and the best hospitality experience. Prior to re-opening, the entire building will be disinfected, including public and communal areas (public bathrooms, halls, elevators, etc.), all areas where food and drink is prepared and served. Each guestroom will be thoroughly disinfected and cleaned with special disinfectants. Room keys will be sanitized and placed in an envelope on the reception desk, waiting to be collected.
On arrival to any Dan Hotel, guests will have their temperature checked, and if the body temperature is over 37.8 degrees, the guest will be transferred to a separate test area. If after a second reading the temperature is still higher than recommended, they will not be able to enter the property.
A package will be left in every guestroom containing masks and disinfecting materials. Sanitizing gel dispensers with touchless sensors will be positioned at the entrance to all hotels and public areas. The hotel pool and gym will operate according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and public areas are marked out to keep the required social distance rules.
The Food and Beverage Department has also made adjustments, but without compromising the high quality and availability of familiar dishes enjoyed by Dan Hotel guests. Meals will be served in accordance with the guidelines approved by the Ministry of Health with stricter arrangements in the dining rooms, to avoid crowds gathering. Guests will also be provided with the option of receiving Room Service, which will arrive covered in equipment that has been disinfected.

In order to be able to provide and safeguard all guests, the Dan chain has initiated a health charter “Stay Safe & Enjoy”, listing the main activities carried out to maintain the health and safety of guests and hotel staff, while ensuring the high level of service and cuisine associated with the Dan Hotels, remains.

After reopening on July 2, 2020 the King David will offer special weekends that offer guests an evening cocktail reception at sunset on the hotel’s rooftop with a mesmerizing 360-degree view of the entire city of Jerusalem, and a lecture on “The Story of Jerusalem from the Beginning to the New Age.”
