At the invitation of the Bahraini Minister of Tourism, Fatima Al-Zirfi, the Minister of Tourism Haim Katz is leaving (Tuesday) to Bahrain in order to strengthen the tourism ties between the countries, in the spirit of the Abraham Accords.

Minister of Tourism, Haim Katz, is the first minister to make an official visit to Bahrain on behalf of the current government, and he is the first minister of tourism to make a visit to the country.

As part of the visit, Minister Katz will hold meetings with the Minister of Tourism Al-Zirfi and the Minister of Finance and Economy, Salman Al-Khalifa.

Tourism Minister Katz will be accompanied by a professional delegation that includes the president of the hotel association – Eli Cohen, and the deputy of the Israel Travel Agents Association – Saar Fox. The delegation will hold working meetings with senior officials from the tourism industry in Bahrain, including the owner of the Golf Air Group, representatives from the Tourism Association and the agents in Bahrain.

The main initiative underlying the visit is the promotion of tourism packages for the Asian market, which include Israel, the Emirates and Bahrain. This is a move that will promote regional tourism and strengthen the presence of tourists from Asia in Israel.
