In the coming months, El Al is expected to receive its 17th Boeing 787 aircraft, and the first aircraft ordered outside of the large purchase deal for Dreamliner aircraft. The new plane is expected to include a number of changes such as new seating sections and also a slightly different coloring than the familiar one of El Al.
The plane took off for the first time in its new livery, which is expected to be the new El Al aircraft livery. As you can see in the picture, several changes were made to the company’s familiar coloring. Unlike before, the back of the plane, under the Israeli flag, is expected to be painted entirely in the blue color that accompanies the plane throughout. Also, El Al gave up the gray stripe that accompanied the blue stripe along the plane.
The plane is still undergoing maintenance processes in the USA and only after they are completed is expected to be handed over to El Al and put into service, most likely mainly on the company’s short premium routes to Europe such as Paris and London, alongside the flights to Thailand. It can be estimated that only new planes delivered to the company will be painted with the new paint and the company will not paint old planes at this stage. This, in light of the high demand for flights, especially in the current period, and the fact that painting an airplane requires taking it out of service for a considerable period.
