Great news for travelers looking to explore the vibrant cultures of Asia. Israeli airline Arkia is shaking up the travel scene by launching new direct flights from Israel to Bangkok, Thailand, and Hanoi, Vietnam. This strategic move not only provides more options for tourists but also promises more competitive pricing.
Arkia’s new direct route to Bangkok is a game-changer, breaking the long-standing monopoly on this popular route. Starting at the end of November, you can now find a round-trip ticket to Bangkok for as low as 998 USD. This price is a significant reduction from previous fares and includes both checked baggage and a carry-on. For those seeking a more luxurious experience, business class seats will start from 1,499 USD one-way.
The airline will operate two weekly flights on its wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft, featuring a full Israeli crew. The flight duration is approximately 10 hours and 45 minutes on the way to Bangkok and 11 hours and 25 minutes on the return. Passengers will also be served two full meals during the journey.
A New Gateway to Vietnam: Direct Flights to Hanoi
For the first time ever, travelers will have access to a direct flight from Israel to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The new route, launching in January 2026, will initially operate once a week. The flight time is roughly 11 hours and 35 minutes to Hanoi and 12 hours and 30 minutes on the return.
Arkia is pulling out all the stops for this route, with three classes of service available: Economy, Economy Plus, and Business Class. The business class cabin offers lie-flat seats, VIP service, and a premium menu, ensuring a comfortable and memorable journey.
Oz Berlowitz, Arkia’s CEO, emphasized that these new routes are a key part of the airline’s broader strategic plan to expand its global presence. “Announcing two new destinations in the Far East is not just a commercial move; it’s a central step in our strategic plan to place the company on par with major international airlines”, he stated.
In addition to the new routes, Arkia will continue to operate its popular flights to Sri Lanka. The airline’s expansion follows the launch of its New York route in early 2025, demonstrating a clear commitment to meeting the growing demand for long-haul destinations and strengthening competition in the industry.
With these exciting new options, getting to the heart of Asia has never been easier or more affordable. It’s a fantastic time to start planning your next adventure from Israel to the enchanting landscapes of Thailand and Vietnam.
