Isrotel chain is set to open a new hotel in Mitzpe Ramon, named “Daroma”, following an extensive two-year renovation and near-complete reconstruction. The project, located on the site of the former Pundak Ramon, represents an investment of approximately 100 million ILS. The Daroma Hotel, part of the Isrotel Collection, is scheduled to welcome its first guests on June 22, 2025, promising a unique desert hospitality experience adjacent to the stunning Ramon Crater.

The hotel’s redesign aims to “bring the simplicity of the desert inside”, with architectural and interior design elements inspired by the surrounding landscape. Rooms are conceptualized to mimic sleeping under the open sky, featuring lighting inspired by moonlight and a design drawing from African lodges. Public spaces are designed with the spirit of roadhouses, intended to evoke a sense of journey and connection between people, the land, and the sky. As part of the modernization, new elevators have been installed, a significant upgrade from the original structure which lacked them.

The Daroma Hotel features 128 rooms, each designed with inspiration from the desert and its expansive views. Guests will have access to a range of facilities including a heated indoor pool, wet sauna, and a fitness center. Family amenities include a kids’ club and a playzone. The hotel also offers a stylish lobby serving a dairy menu alongside a central dining room.

Notably, the Daroma Hotel will be the first in the Isrotel chain to implement a collaboration with the energy company Doral Urban. This partnership involves the installation of an energy storage facility for self-consumption. This system is designed to enable smart and efficient management of the electricity grid, provide energy resilience allowing the hotel to operate greenly and independently even during peak hours, and offer significant savings by utilizing stored electricity for the hotel’s own needs.

Guests of the Daroma Hotel will also have the option to book spa treatments at the nearby luxurious Beresheet Hotel, subject to availability and advance reservation. The hotel’s prime location in the heart of the desert serves as an ideal base for travelers and hikers eager to explore the beauty of the Ramon Crater. Visitors can look forward to experiencing magical desert sunrises and some of the world’s most impressive stargazing opportunities, as the area has been recognized as a World Star Light Reserve by UNESCO.
